Golf Club Hluboka nad Vltavou

De baan heeft mijn verwachtingen overtroffen. Een prachtige parkbaan, vol met schitterende eikenbomen. Veel afwisseling, waarbij echt course management nodig is. Een vriendelijke ontvangst, leuke caddymaster. Aantrekkelijk tarief vanwege seniorenkorting. Greens, fairway en teeboxes zeer goed onderhouden en prachtig groen, ondanks de zomerhitte. Het clubhuis is vernieuwd, maar oogt nog steeds saai. Personeel mag ook wel wat meer aandacht en vriendelijkheid laten zien. Een baan om zeker terug te komen.

Van een afstand lijkt het een saaie parkbaan. Niets is minder waar. Spannend, uitdagend, goed coursemanagement is echt een must. Spannende holes, mooie oude bomen, en alles onder het wakend oog van het prachtige jachtslot op de berg. Clubhuis is saai, kleedkamers en wc’s nieuw en brandschoon. Een aanrader, en ga dan ook ff naar het kasteel!

Not far from Ceske Budejovice you will find a town Hluboká nad Vltavou and the golf course with the same name which is located just below the beautiful Hluboká castle once known also as Schloss Frauenberg or the Schwarzenberg castle. This 18-hole "championship" course with Par of 72 is more of a family course if you ask me so I wouldn't quite call this a championship golf course. With an exception of Par-5's all holes are quite short. But do not underestimate this course as it still requires precise tee-shots as there are plenty of bunkers, ponds and creeks crosing the fairways. The layout is completely flat but there are quite a few dog-leg holes, a few holes also offer a nice view of the Hluboká castle.

Fairways were okay and quite fast because of the dry weather, greens were also nice with decent speed and roll.

Clubhouse is being partly renovated so there were no changing rooms available at the moment. There is no real pro-shop on site. Bar/restaurant is very nice.

It was extremely hot on the day we played and there was no water anywhere on the course so my partner decided to play only 9 holes however the reception insisted to charge the whole 18 holes and not just that, they were not willing to give at least the pull trolley free of charge and they charged it 5 € for the whole 18 holes after the round - not a friendly gesture I would say! ALWAYS be friendly and fair to your customers as you never know who the visiting person is! :/.

Mooie baan om op te spelen. Steeds een mooi uitzicht op het kasteel. Alleen jammer dat toen wij er waren al het personeel aan het maaien was. Parkeergelegenheid is erg slecht.

A really beautiful open and wide parkland course, with water hazards and trees on very strategic places (landing areas, lines to the green, etc..). The greens were recently punched and sanded, but were still in really good condition. The fairways were in very good condition, with heavy (thick sticky grass) rough next to them. You are really punished for not hitting the fairway because from the rough you could not stop the ball on the green. The course is also pretty long (I played from the backs).

The practices area is really nice, with good pitching, chipping and putting greens. The driving range has some old mats, but also the possibility of hitting of the grass. The clubhouse is simple but effective. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The food in the clubhouse is very good. I had a very nice panini with ham and cheese, which was really good.
