Scottburgh Golf Club

The Scottburgh GC is a members club and a par 69 parkland course with undulated fairways. It has only 2 par 5, s and 5 par 3, s. There are limited practice facilities and maintenance of course need some attention. The design of the course is nice and when playing with limited wind you are lucky. Because close to the Indian Ocean give nice views from the course however playing will not be that easy. There are many hoes with out of bounds, but water is limited. They have special offers greenfee on Mon/Tues/Thursday with or without golfcart but also the normal fee of Rand 230(15 euro) cannot be a problem to have a round and experience to play with Ocean winds.

This course in the small town of Scottburgh is really worth to play. Some holes are a bit starnge, for example the second along the railroad. beware not to hit the train. However the train is not very frequent: once every two hours I guess. Some holes are very beautiful and the undulation is sometimes quite high. The 18th hole is a blind hole and very spectacular. The people there are very friendly and the food nice. The price is very good! We heard that the club has some problems to survive. I can imagine when the prices are that low. It would be a pity as it had to be closed! Go there!

The layout and views are very nice but the course needs to be properly maintained for it to reach its true potential. Fairways and greens should be taken care of.

Ein Platz mit toll angelegten Löchern, aber leider verwahrlost. Fairways sind nicht zu erkennen, Green ungepflegt, ebenso Wege. Total schade, da Ttolle Aussichten u interessant zu spielende Löcher.
